The task was to create an additional layer in interest to print covers without taking away from the original design. I decided to design each cover showing the basic understanding of the topic, and then use the animation to dig deeper and show the truth behind the cover. The AR app was used to give readers easy access to the animation. This app allows the user to hover over the print piece, and watch it come to life through their phone screen. The animation would also be used on any digital platform hosting the issues.

Everything After Conception begins with the basic image of a woman seeing these two pink lines, but when you activate the animation using the AR app, the screen is flooded with worries of every new mother. The animation is an example of the overwhelming thoughts running through the brain of every new mother.

Missing Murdered and Misunderstood features the static image of three indegidous women performing a ceremonial dance, wearing garments from multiple tribes. The animation features the sun going down, and the three women being whisked away into nothing but dusk. This animation could easily have been gruesome, showing the acts of crime inflicted on the indigidous women, but the reality is that women are being taken in the night, and treated like they were never even there.

Love Shouldn’t Hurt aims to educate and empower thoses in an abusive relationship, and expose the truth that abuse isn’t always obvious at first glance. The animation is quick, and has missing pieces, making it hard to see what’s happening.
