Bold and unapologetic women come together to create a platform for females alike to share opinions and stories on pressing matters that otherwise would not be covered by a traditional or mainstream magazine.

Stories like these must be represented by a logo that is blunt, crude, and absolutely proud to stand where it does. Big blocky letters take a powerful position on the page, with rough edges and warped lines to promote imperfection as the new standard.

The edition shown is Women in Music, January 2020. The illustration styles are quickly sketched out with charcoal, giving the layouts a rough edge. The collage-style takes inspiration from 90’s punk music. A time when women were rising up, taking charge of pop culture and changing a woman’s beauty standards. Cuts into the text boxes, grainy images, and hand-drawn quotee all make the layouts feel rebellious, mirroring the personalities of the women featured in LIPPY.
